A product key is a 25-character code used to activate Windows. What you'll see is PRODUCT KEY: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.

In order to successfully activate the system, you should create Windows 10 installation media first. You can use this page to Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) that can be used to install or reinstall Windows 10.
Method 1: (Recommend)
During installation, you'll be prompted to enter a product key. Or, after installation, to enter the product key, select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Update product key > Change product key.
Right-click the Start button or press Windows key + X.
From Settings > System > About, click on Change product key or Upgrade your edition of Windows.
Enter your product key.
In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel, and then select Control Panel.
Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System and click Activate Windows or Change Product Key.
Click on Activation and enter the 25-digit Product Key.
In use, there is no difference at all between OEM and retail key. Both are full versions of the OS, and as such include all the features, updates, and functionality. The major difference is that whereas when you buy a retail copy of Windows 10 you can use it on more than one device, although not at the same time, an OEM key is locked to the hardware on which it was first activated.
